Putellas won the women’s award for a second time while Benzema won 2022 Ballon d’Or award for first time
Spanish player Alexia Putellas won the women’s Ballon d’Or for the second straight year following another outstanding season with Barcelona.
Karim Benzema won the men’s Ballon d’Or for the first time after a brilliant season with Real Madrid capped by the Champions League and Spanish league titles.
Putellas scored 42 goals and delivered 22 assists last season. The midfielder became the first player to win the award twice.
