Badminton, hockey and cycling competition were held in different venues of Nishtar Park Sports Complex in Independence Day celebrations.
Vice Chairman, Sports Board Punjab (SBP), Zahid Qayyum was the chief guest and distributed prizes among top performers of the events. Deputy Director Chand Parveen, Rana Nadeem Anjum, Chaudhary Zahoor Ahmed, Nasir Malik, Administrator National Hockey Stadium; former hockey player Sehrish Ghuman and Chief Sports Consultant Hafeez Bhatti were also present.
The Laser Run event was also organized at Punjab Stadium. Punjab Green emerged triumphant against Punjab White in Laser Run competition. Punjab Green accumulated 4,568 points, while Punjab White could get 3,962 points.
In Under-12 Subhan Zahoor got first position with 430 points and the next two positions were shared by Hussain with 340 and Talha 315 points. Chief Guest Zahid Qayyum said that SBP has organized competitions of 11 games to celebrate the Independence Day in a befitting manner. We engaged male and female players in different sports activities. He further said that SBP provided a suitable platform to young athletes of the province to demonstrate their sporting skills in a competitive environment.
