Punjab Lawn Tennis Association had organized Ali Embroidery Mills (Pvt) Ltd Under-16 Asian Tennis Tour 2022 (Leg -2) and Punjab Junior Tennis Championship 2022 from 24th to 28th October at Sports Board Punjab’s Tennis Academy, Nishtar Park, Lahore.
Over 100 players participated in the Asian Championship from all over Pakistan. Main categories of the championship were: Boys U-16 Singles, Boys U-16 Doubles, Boys/Girls U-14, Boys/Girls U-14 Doubles, Boys/Girls U-12, Boys/Girls U-10, Boys/Girls U-8 and Boys/Girls U-6.
CEO Ali Embroidery Mills and Tariq Zaman inaugurated the event in presence of players, their families and tennis lovers. Tournament Director Rashid Malik (Tagma-e-Imtiaz) and Tournament Referee Shehzad Alevi were also present on this occasion.
Following were the winners:
Boys U-16 final:
Bilal Asim beat Asad Zaman 6-0, 6-1.
Boys U-16 Doubles final:
Bilal Asim & Ahtesham Humayun beat Hamid Israr & Hamza Roman 7-5, 7-6.
Boys/Girls U-14 final:
Nabeel Qayum beat Abdur Rehman 6-0.
Boys/Girls U-14 Doubles final:
Nabeel Qayum & Abdur Rehman beat Bismel Zia & Hajra Suhail 6-1.
Boys/Girls U-12 final:
Abdur Rehman beat Hajra 6-1.
Boys/Girls U-10 final:
Hajra Suhail beat Mustafa Uzair Rana 6-2.
Boys/Girls U-8 final:
Bronze Medal won by Daniyal Afzal, Silver by Ehsan Bari and Ayan Shahbaz won the Gold Medal.
Boys /Girls U-6:
Bronze Medal by Hafsa Sohail, Silver by Shahreen Omer while Gold Medal winner was Mamnoon Bari.
CEO Tariq Zaman was also the chief guest of the prize distribution ceremony and he along with Rashid Malik distributed prizes among the winners.Sindh Tennis Association’s SVP Khalid Rehmani, former PTF SVP Col (r) Asif Dar, Ashfaq Chohan, players, their families and tennis enthusiasts were also present on this occasion.
Rashid Malik thanked Tariq Zaman for his all out support for junior tennis development and hoped that he will continue to support this beautiful game.
