Pakistan to play their first match against hosts New Zealand
In preparation for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022, Pakistan cricket team will participate in the triangular T20 series to be played in New Zealand.
Hosts New Zealand and Bangladesh, including Pakistan, will take part in the triangular series to be played at Hegley Oval Christchurch from October 8 to 14.
Pakistan, ranked third in the world in T20, will play their first match in the triangular series against hosts New Zealand on October 9. Pakistan and Bangladesh will compete in the triangular series on October 10.
The final of the series will be played on October 14, before which the Pakistan cricket team will return to the field on October 12 against Bangladesh and on October 13 against New Zealand.
After completing the triangular T20 series, the national cricket team will leave for Australia, where Pakistan will play its first match in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup against India in Melbourne on October 23. In the mega event, Pakistan will play its next two matches on October 27 and 30 against the qualifying teams in Perth. The national cricket team will play against South Africa in Sydney on November 3 and Bangladesh in Adelaide on November 6.
Pakistan team captain Babar Azam said, “He is happy to participate in the scheduled triangular T20 series in New Zealand ahead of the T20 World Cup as the series prepares Pakistan for the mega event to be played in Australia.”
Babar said that he could not play any match in the last tour of the national cricket team in New Zealand due to a thumb injury, so he is looking forward to playing a series against two strong teams at Hegley Oval Christchurch.
The national cricket team will leave for Christchurch on October 4 after playing a home T20 international series against England. The seven TWENTY20 International series between Pakistan and England will end on October 2. Earlier, the Pakistan cricket team will participate in the ACCT TWENTY20 Asia Cup. The tournament, to be played in Colombo, Sri Lanka, will run from August 27 to September 11.

October 9: Pakistan vs New Zealand.
